SportyTweets was created out of personal necessity in late summer of 2008. I am an alumnus of Clemson University, and in anticipation of the 2008 football season, I wanted to check in on all the news of the Clemson football team. Every day I visited numerous fan sites, the school’s athletic site, and major sports sites to read all I could about my team.

In this daily ritual, I realized I was spending lots of time from going from page to page, several times a day. I also realized I skimmed the headlines of each page, and only clicked through to the stories which were interesting to me. I figured there had to be a better way! And viola, SportyTweets was born. I no longer was wasting time visiting multiple websites, and I could read all the headlines in one place.

Today

SportyTweets has grown into a powerful traffic network. Partnering with top news sources, SportyTweets drives thousands of visitors to news and sports portals each day. Tailored for each team and sport, our team accounts provide news updates from official team and league sources, video recaps and news, headline stories, and inside commentary from sports blogs and local news reporters.
